Penguin Close Read

Penguin Close I don’t think I would have ever said that penguins were my favorite animal…but they may be my favorite animal to teach about (especially after realizing how many packs I have devoted to them!)
My latest? Read
A fabulous (I hope) penguin close read.  I am loving how it all came together!

  1. I moved to first this year and have loved using your resources. I just finished up your reindeer close read before Christmas break. I would love to add this one to my January plans! And…your art ideas are fantastic! The video you shared telling how you integrated and carried out the art lessons helped me tons! Thanks:)

  2. I would be thrilled if I won your penguin close read. My students enjoy our penguin unit. Thanks for the freebie. Check out Artventurous. She has a penguin box that her students make to house their Valentine cards. We are going to make it and use it to house all of our penguin discoveries. When the unit is over we will take it home to share with our families.

  3. I would love to win your close read! I do a penguin unit every year and I agree, they are not my personal favorite animal, but they are one my favorites to teach about. There is such a variety and there are so many interesting facts! The kids are always very engaged and they go home and use words like "molt" and "porpoising" and it's amazing. 🙂
