A post today over at Love2Learn2Day suggested talking about a favorite book you use for Math.  I have to say one of my favorites is The Fly on the Ceiling: A Math Mystery.  It is *perfect* to help explain the Cartesian Coordinate System to young kids.  I used it when I taught third and still use it in first.  Of course, the story is fiction…but the epilogue explains that.  It is a must for the beginning of any unit that discusses graphing or grids.  Click the picture above to visit the Love2Learn2Day post!
