11 in 11 Linky Party!

Ok, so I know I already posted once today…but you can blame it all on Hadar and Kristen!!  I am linking up for their 11 in 11 Linky party!  You should link up, too!

11. Favorite movie you watched

I am a die-hard mystery reader/watcher…the more British the better…even though these particular Holmes movies aren’t exactly true to the Doyle books…they are still fun to watch.  (and let’s be honest, Robert Downey jr ‘ain’t hard on the eyes’)

10. Favorite TV series
This is tough for me, too…This year I got hooked on a couple of shows…Empire Boardwalk and Walking Dead…but my husband got me on Game of Thrones, too.  I like Castle, too…Oops, there I go…adding more than one!!

9. Favorite restaurant
Umm…another tough one…I like Tex Mex and in B’ham there is Superior and La Paz that both make me happy.  But if we are talking fast food…then “everybody goes to Milos” (you gotta be from Alabama to get that one..)

8. Favorite new thing you tried
blogging…I never thought I would do it…much less love it…but I do (obviously)

7. Favorite gift you received
My new Fossil purse…and my Brighton “go to” bracelet. (you know the bracelet you can wear everyday and it not bother or ever get in the way…not too valuable, but valuable enough to look good)

6. Favorite thing you pinned
hmmm …I couldn’t choose just one thing in my teacher related things- they are all awesome…so..maybe everything in my Polka Polka Dots Board

5. Favorite blog post
Probably my ‘Classroom Pics‘ Post…I loved the response I got….and decorating is sort of a fav thing of mine

4. Favorite accomplishment

This year, it has been starting a blog and opening a TPT and Teachers Notebook store. I am proud of myself for stepping out there and giving it a shot =)

3. Favorite picture

I have a million fav pics…of my husband and me..my kids, my family…but when it comes to teaching, I have always had a place in my classroom for this picture.  It is me in first grade.  It reminds me of what it was like to be them.  It reminds me of a lot of things, my first grade teacher and how she made me feel special…. it helps me be a better teacher to remember.

2. Favorite memory

from 2011?  Well, maybe going to the beach with the hubs and kids…or maybe the last time my mom came to my house on Maggie’s bday last February…the latter one makes me sad a bit, so I will go with the first:

1. Goal for 2012
In life:  Eat better/be healthier….be a better role model for my kids =)

In school:I want to do a better job with Science and Social Studies.

So there ya go…My 11 in 11.  Link up and share yours!!

  1. I have a picture of myself from first grade in my classroom too. I'm glad I'm not the only one. 🙂

I am off to follow your Polka Dot Pin board. I love polka dots.

Can't wait to read you next post…even, if it's another one today. I'm on vacation! I have time! 🙂

  2. I would love to put a first grade pic of me on my blog or in my classroom. But I would have to use your pic and say that it's me. Because MY first grade pic looks like I'm in the wrong placement. Seriously. Glasses – but with an eye patch over my left eye (they were trying to strengthen the vision in my right eye) AND a cast on my arm. Yep. And Dorothy Hamill hair. I burned that pic a loooooong time ago. Your pic is precious.
I don't know either of those TV shows and you've peaked my interest.
I had a sad memory so I understand.
    Thank you for linking up!!!!

  3. What a beautiful family picture! Yey for blogging this year! It's been a new venture for me as well and I love it!

Also, I have a New Year Resolution linky party & a questioner on my blog that I would really love your feedback on. Please stop by and give me your opinion.

    Thanks!!!

  4. We are going to see Sherlock Holmes this week and I can't wait! And yes, who cares if you post more than once a day. Your memories are more fresh that way. I need to find my kindergarten picture. I used to keep it in my room until I moved schools. No clue where it is! Have a Happy New Year!

  5. I have a picture of my 1st grade self in my classroom. But…the kids really like my 1st grade class composite. They love to pick me out and most get it right! What's neat is that it was taken outside on some funky old contraption on our playground. It was the 70's! They say "What is that thing?" And they tell me I look prettier than my teacher. Can you say brownie points???

  6. ooooo I am off to see the new Sherlock Holmes tonight! Can't wait but I am kind of a Jude Law girl! 🙂 I also keep my first grade pic in my classroom. I have wonderfule memories of being in first grade and it is not the stuff I learned that I remember. It is how much I loved my first grade teacher.
