Hi Everybody!!

So what have I been up to?  Well, quite a lot.  The end of school sorta kicked my rear…. not sure why, but before I packed up my room for summer…I decided to paint my bookcases.  Wow!
It took way longer than I thought it would.
But it was worth it:

I painted them black.  Before that they were “historic tan” like our walls.
Now I think they stand out more (in a good way!)
Here are a couple of “before” pictures:
I like it.  After all that painting, I still had to pack up my room!!
I was the last one out of the parking lot!
Once I recovered from the end of school… it has been things like my daughter’s swim team practice EVERY morning M-F at 7:30,  going to the lake and having some birthday fun for Jack who is turning 5 next week… running errands and doctor’s appointments keeping me busy! Oh…and
check out what I found at the Dollar Tree when I was out and about for one of those appointments:
In other news….
Tomorrow I am having sinus surgery, but my hope is that the recovery only take a few days and that I will be able to keep up with my google reader and post soon.
I hope you all have a great week!!

Good luck with the surgery. A teacher at my school had that and it went well. She was back to school quicker than I would have guessed.

I hope your sinus surgery goes well. Your bookshelves look great. I have a few large items in my room painted black and I think it makes all the other colors "POP!" I was just at the Dollar Tree last night and picked up some of the same things you did!

Good luck with the surgery and I hope for a speedy recovery! I LOVE the black bookcases. I think I'm just as crazy with my class library. I decided to imput all of my classroom library into Booksource before packing it up for the summer. I started last week and have the rest of this week to do it. I don't know what I was thinking. I'm going to be posting it on my blog tomorrow after I take pictures of my progress. Haha! I still have so much to do before Friday.

I painted all the furniture in my room black last summer and LOVE it! I painted bookcases, filing cabinets, big metal storage closets, and shelving units. It was certainly a LOT of work, but it looks great and yours does too! I'm working on black bulletin boards for next year too. Love how everything pops on black! Have a great summer 🙂

Good luck on surgery! I had sinus surgery and deviated septum surgery done in October. I'm not sure what just sinus surgery feels like, but after a few days it wasn't too bad. And the benefits of it have been amazing!
