What I’ve Been Up To…

·
I have been busy in my classroom.  There isn’t anything much creepier than an empty school, especially when it is being cleaned and all the stuff is in the hallway and it is dark…and quiet.   On the other hand, there isn’t a situation when you can get more done.  The whole school is EMPTY and there is no one to distract you…no one to talk to …..nothing else to do, but go to your room, close the door (and hope the Bloody Mary that the kids talk about isn’t real)
Anyways, my lonely school visits have allowed me some time to start some projects.  Here is what I have so far:

Can you spot the error in the picture below?

Well, I didn’t see what I had done for quite a while until a sweet teacher emailed me.  I was in a rush, hot gluing above my head and just didn’t pay attention to where I had put the apostrophe!   And now it is pinned all over everywhere and has an error!! lol  So I fixed it and now you can see what it should have looked like in the first picture on this post!
ANYWAYS…
The bulletin board lettering is from Creative Teaching Press…Dots on Turquoise. I promise, I will never let my love of it go!!
The board behind my desk. My idea is to use Brag Tags (awesome personalized tags from imagestuff)
under the owls for each child.  Throughout the year I will add tags and as a reward I might let the wear them for a day, but they get to take them all home at the end of the year.
Seriously, the tags are AMAZING …and the owls are too cute!
The bulletin board set is from Carson Dellosa

A close up of the tags =) At the bottom of the tag it says “From Ms White”!!
My hallway board:

The hallway needed some cheerful love!
Oh, and all you Bama (or just Southeast) Folks!  Don’t forget to come this Saturday!

  1. Amazing work, friend! I am so jealous you can get in already. I tried to get in just to steal some games out of my room for my migrant summer school, and couldn't even do that!:(

  2. Jennifer, I am IN LOVE! You are phenomenal. Who wouldn't want to learn in your classroom?

You blow me away, girlfriend! You are seriously THE SWEETEST, and always leave the best comments. I love seeing a new post from you on my Blog Roll and a comment waiting for me in your inbox.

Thanks for continuing to inspire me! šŸ™‚

  3. I'm jealous that you can get into your classroom. We're not allowed in the building until mid-August. Ugh! Your room is already looking fabulous!

  4. You made me laugh out loud with the Bloody Mary comment! Jennifer, this looks fabulous (as always). I can't get over how cool that owl bulletin board looks! Do you use fabrics on all of your boards?

Can't wait to see more šŸ™‚

  5. OH MY WORD! I ADORE your Pete! I want one! We don't have dark blue butcher paper at my school. Waaa!
I love it all! Good Job!

  6. Love what you have done. I too have been working a little in my room by myself at the school. It is creepy! I am waiting for my fadeless paper to start my bulletin boards. Can't wait. Thanks for the pictures.

  7. An empty school IS so creepy! And my class was obsessed with talking about Bloody Mary last year… I even had girls coming back fake-crying from the bathroom to scare everybody. It took a long time to convince my little firsties that the bathroom was totally safe!! šŸ™‚

    Marvelous Multiagers!

  8. Oh I just love your door!! I wish I could come to your meet up this weekend! I'm in TN so it wouldn't be too far of a drive…. hmmmm… šŸ™‚

  9. I just saw your blog mentioned at imagestuff.com… I REALLY like the way you have them organized with owls. I actually won a banner from imagestuff.com(YAY ME) and will hang it with the tags attached. The kids love them! I love your PETE, too. Thanks for sharing!
