Pumpkin Week {FREEBIES}

 We started the week off with homemade pumpkin bread and labeling..the page is from Lyndsey’s  (A Year of Many Firsts’) pumpkin pack {here}

 The idea for these crazy pumpkins are from Doodle Bugs Teaching and the recording page is from Lori, Teaching with Love and Laughter {here}
 We read about the “Ugly Pumpkin” and hypothesized about whether the inside of the green “ugly” pumpkin would look the same as the orange pumpkin we cut open the day before.

 We saved some of the orange pumpkin to see what happens…
 We used Cara Carroll’s Great Pumpkin Investigation booklets {here} to learn all about out pumpkins. The kids LOVE investigating!
 We counted the stripes.
 We measured it’s size.
 We pulled out the “guts”
 We counted the seeds…ALL 620 of them!
 For snack we had pumpkin muffins and pumpkin chips.
 ….and pumpkin brownies…and pumpkin m&m’s (weird)…and pumpkin cookies….and pumpkin shaped pretzels!
 Oh, and one other thing to share:  we were working on the sound for “th” and made our Thinking Thumbs.  Here is the original post and the download is {HERE}.
