Mother’s Day Craft & Freebie

· · ·
Mother’s Day when I am in first grade involves our Mother’s Day Tea and a lot of crafts and fun… but this year, it was sort of exciting to have the freedom to try something new.

I went to Dollar Tree and purchased picture frames.  I gave my kids a skin colored circle, and they got to choose pieces of construction paper to re-create their hair and then draw their facial features.  The pink circles for cheeks was optional, but I think the whole project turned out SO stinkin’ cute!
They glued their face to pre-cut scrapbook paper and we put it in the frame!

I gave them a framed box where they could write their mom a message, which added a special touch.
I loved the First Grade Parade‘s Mirror illustrations she shared a while back with paper frames, which were definitely an inspiration along with some of my kiddo craftivities of years gone by!
