About Ms. White: Hi there! I am so happy you are here! My name is Jennifer White and I am the author behind First Grade Blue Skies (and a couple other blogs including Freebielicious and Teaching Blog Addict).
About Ms. White
I started teaching 18 years ago after graduating from the University of Montevallo with a degree in Early Childhood and then later acquired my Master’s Degree at the University of Alabama. I am also a National Board certified teacher in Early Childhood!
I’ve taught First Grade and Third Grade, but currently I teach Kindergarten at Appalachian Elementary. I am originally from Ashville, AL where I graduated High School way back in 1991.
I am married to a great guy, Shawn. We live in Oneonta. We met online and although he didn’t buy me a scone or tea, we fell in love.
I have three great kids.
Maggie is 6. She’s the baby and loves everything pink and girly!
Jack is my only boy. He’s 8 now and is an avid fan of video games and anything computer related!
Emma is 14. She is smart, a great student, and can bake and sew! #winning
When I am not teaching, I am usually spending time
with my family. But if I could do anything for fun,
it would be to go shopping or read (or watch)
British Mysteries! My favorite
authors include, Agatha Christie, Rex Stout,
and James Lee Burke.
5 Random Facts About Me:
1. I feel naked if I am not wearing a bracelet.
2. I love anything mint.
3. Purses or socks are my weakness.
4. My taste in music is a bit schizophrenic. You might hear the Beatles, Metallica, Dave Matthews, Eazy-E, Janis Joplin, Patsy Cline, and the Beastie Boys all in one session!
5. I’ve only had short hair once in my life and I got my first trim when I was 13. I’ve also never colored my hair. #brunetteforlife #touchofgrey
